1. Using aluminum sulfate, sodium silicate and zirconium oxychloride as the coating agent, sodium hexametaphosphate (SHMP) as the dispersant, the inorganic coated and modified rutile titanium dioxide nanoparticles were prepared. By improving the composition of the coating agent and the orthogonal experiment design, with the particle size, potential and degree of dispersion as evaluation indicators, the preparation process of modified rutile titanium dioxide nanoparticles was optimized. The modified coated rutile titanium dioxide nanoparticles can be applied to PVC plastics and their anti-degradation as well as weather resistance properties can be studied.

Aluminum oxide, silicon dioxide, and zirconium dioxide are used to coat the surface of rutile titanium dioxide nanoparticles to form ZrO2, SiO2 and Al2O3 coated rutile titanium dioxide nanoparticles. 3. According to the difference in the coating ability of ZrO2, SiO2 and Al2O3 coated rutile titanium dioxide, ZrO2/Al2O3 coated rutile titanium dioxide nanoparticles were designed and prepared. The double layer structure of ZrO2/Al2O3 coated rutile titanium dioxide nanoparticles not only increases the whiteness, but also effectively reduces the amount of ZrO2, which greatly reduces the cost of modified rutile titanium dioxide nanoparticles.
4. In order to further improve the performance and reduce the cost, an improved sol-gel method is adopted. A kind of ternary coated rutile titanium dioxide nanoparticles with outer layer of aluminum oxide, middle layer of silicon dioxide and inner layer of zirconia was designed and prepared. A new synthesis process of rutile titanium dioxide coated with ZrO2 / SiO2 / Al2O3 was developed. Compared with ZrO2/Al2O3 coated nanoparticles, it has the advantages of good dispersion performance, low loss rate, low oil absorption and high whiteness, and lower raw material cost. This will be more effectively used to improve the physical and chemical properties of titanium dioxide plastic.
