Mount Shasta is the prominent landmark visible from Lake Siskiyou, and sometimes on a calm day there's a good reflection in the lake. This doesn't happen often, and it helps to have an ND filter to help smooth any ripples. When the reflection is visible, I'm always taken by its beauty. Of course windy or calm, it's always wonderful to admire the last rays of light striking Mount Shasta. I highly recommend Lake Siskiyou for the gorgeous sunsets.
With a quickly rising sun I was able to capture sunrise breaking over the ridge of the far shore on Crater Lake. The sun burst forth and filled the scene with its rays. It would have been nice to have a few puffy clouds in the sky, but the haze and low clouds filled the horizon with a nice orange color. We only had one morning at Crater Lake National Park, which is far too little time to do justice to this wonderful site. I'm pleased with the time we had, and we already have reservations to return next year for several days.
