Tell Your Story to the World With #TwitterFiction

Twitter Fiction FestivalWe all have a story to tell, we just usually don’t tell it on Twitter given the 140-character constraint per Tweet. Yet Twitter is one of the most effective communication tools that exists today. To support writers, Twitter has again partnered with the Association of American Publishers and Penguin Random House to bring us the second edition of the #TwitterFiction festival!

The online storytelling event is set to take place between March 12 and 16 and allows any aspiring writer to become a Featured Storyteller and join the ranks of award-winning authors from across a wide selection of genres.

What type of fiction writing should you consider? A few suggestions from Twitter include going beyond just tweeting out a script verbatim by exploring more creative and engaging social storytelling approaches like parody accounts, images and Vines, multiple characters communicating via Twitter and other narratives.

“Anyone can use #TwitterFiction in their Tweets to convey a fictional idea, narrative or visual art,” says Twitter. Entries will be judged by a panel from the Association of American Publishers and accepted until February 5.
